STATEMENT BY U.S. SENATOR BENJAMIN L. CARDIN ON HIS VOTE FOR THE IRAQ SUPPLEMENTAL SPENDING BILL

“I voted for the Supplemental Appropriations bill because, in the end, I am committed to fund our troops in harms way. But I am greatly disappointed.

“At each turn I have opposed the President's Iraq policies, from the initial vote to authorize action in that nation, to the most recent votes in the Senate calling for the near-term redeployment of our troops. My commitment remains to change our mission in Iraq and bring our troops home.”
