ELKTON, MD –
U.S. Senator Benjamin L. Cardin (D-MD) today visited the WL Gore & Associates’ manufacturing plant on Vieve’s Way. WL Gore is the largest employer in Cecil County with a workforce of 2,300 workers at 13 plants in the county.
WL Gore has received $814,000 from the
American Reinvestment & Recovery Act
for innovative clean energy that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create clean energy jobs.
Senator Cardin met with officials and employees of the company and received a tour of the facility to view its investment in clean energy.

Senator Cardin.
“Our nation needs manufacturers like WL Gore who are committed to lowering costs and lowering our carbon footprint.”
WL Gore is specializes in products derived from fluorpolymers such as Gore-Tex.
It also it manufacturers performance outwear for the military and chemo-bio protection for the military and first responders.
