SEN. CARDIN VOTES FOR ETHICS REFORM BILL
Coleman-Cardin Amendment on Congressional Travel Passes

WASHINGTON
Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin (D-MD) today voted for The Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act (S.1), a comprehensive ethics reform bill that will bring more openness and transparency to government and limit the influence of special interest lobbyists. The Coleman-Cardin amendment (No. 0039), which creates a website to make Congressional travel records more accessible to the public, was accepted as part of the bill. The bill passed tonight 96-2.

The American people wanted us to change the way we do business in Washington and this ethics reform bill is a major step in the right direction, said Sen. Cardin. Were taking action to make sure that Congress is accountable to the people who elect them, not to the special interests. Congress must regain the trust of the American people.
