BALTIMORE – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asia and Pacific Affairs, made the following remarks on the release of American citizens Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller who had been held by the DPRK.
“Welcome home to Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller. Their release from the DPRK was long overdue and very welcome. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific Affairs, I have followed both cases closely and have long urged for their release. I commend the efforts of both the Obama Administration and our international partners in safely bringing these two Americans home.”
