Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) made the following remarks in response to receiving a score of 100 percent on the 2011 Report Card from the League of Conservation Voters (LCV). This is the fourth year in a row that Senator Cardin has received a 100 percent score from the LCV.

“I am honored, once again, to receive a perfect score on the League of Conservation Voters annual report card.  During a year of unprecedented attacks on our bedrock environmental laws, I am proud to have stood up for healthy air and fresh, clean water for swimming, fishing, and drinking.  Additionally, innovative air and water protections are helping to create jobs across our nation. Strong environmental protections and a strong economy go hand-in-hand. I am pleased to stand for a healthier environment for our children and grandchildren, and a healthier economy for America.”
