Cardin Marks the Start of Passover

BALTIMORE – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued the following statement marking the beginning of Passover.

“Passover is a holiday marked by gratitude for one’s own situation, and charity for those less fortunate. This weekend, Jewish families across Maryland, the United States, and the world will gather around the table to teach their children the story of the Exodus. This tradition reflects the importance of teaching future generations the value of freedom and the opportunity to succeed, privileges never to be taken for granted. We must always be guided by our history so that we remain humble and grateful, and continue to welcome the stranger to our table. I wish all those who celebrate a happy Passover.”
