SEN. CARDIN NAMES EASTERN SHORE FIELD REPRESENTATIVE

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin today announced that he has named Lee F. Whaley as his Eastern Shore Field Representative. Starting April 1, Ms. Whaley will represent the Senator in the eight counties on the Eastern Shore, work with constituents on federal issues, coordinate with local and state officials, and handle community outreach.

Ms. Whaley served for 15 years as Sen. Paul Sarbanes' Eastern Shore representative. Prior to her work for Sen. Sarbanes, she was President of Chesapeake Productions and a Lecturer with Salisbury University's Department of Communications.

“Lee will be my eyes and ears on the Eastern Shore. She is experienced, dedicated and knowledgeable, and she has a keen insight into issues that are important to residents of the Eastern Shore,” said Sen. Cardin in announcing her appointment.

The Senator has said that the “Eastern Shore faces several important challenges, particularly in the areas of agriculture, economic development and jobs, and the Bay and the environment. I plan to be very involved in making sure that the Eastern Shore has the resources to address many of these issues.”
