WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Steny H. Hoyer, John Sarbanes, and Anthony G. Brown (all D-Md.) announced $100,000 in federal funding to help repair and rehabilitate homes for low-income residents in Anne Arundel County and Charles County.

“The economic crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has left many Maryland families strapped for cash and unable to afford basic home repairs,” the lawmakers said. “These federal dollars will help improve the safety and security of homes across Anne Arundel County and Charles County. Our delegation will continue supporting Maryland families as we work to get to the other side of this public health emergency.”

Funding comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Housing Preservation Grant Program. It will provide grants and low-interest loans to Anne Arundel County and Charles County homeowners to help make critical repairs that ensure homes meet local property and safety standards.

Funding includes $50,000 for Rebuilding Together in Anne Arundel County and $50,000 for the Charles County Commissioners.
