CARDIN STATEMENT ON TERRORIST ATTACK AGAINST ISRAELIS IN BULGARIA

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Senate Chair of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, released the following statement on the airport bus attack in Bulgaria:

“I am outraged by the senseless attack in Bulgaria directed toward Israeli tourists. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the Israeli and Bulgarian families of those killed and injured in the attack. Targeting innocent civilians is unacceptable under any circumstances in any country around the globe and the United States will continue to fight against such atrocities and bring to justice those who would commit such acts.  Israel and its citizens have endured far too many terrorist attacks. As the strongest of allies and partners in combating terrorism, we reaffirm our support for Israel’s right to defend its people and take appropriate actions to ensure their safety.”
