Cardin Statement on Baltimore’s 35th Annual Artscape Festival

BALTIMORE – U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) issued the following statement recognizing the national significance of Artscape, the largest free arts festival in America. It is held Baltimore’s Bolton Hill and Station North Arts and Entertainment District neighborhoods.

“For 35 years, Artscape has served as a reflection of Baltimore’s rich history and reverence for the arts. From music to sculpture, photography to woodwork and every nearly every other medium imaginable, Artscape showcases the diverse talents of local artists who are an integral part of Baltimore’s unique personality as a city. This weekend is a perfect time to support local artists and small businesses, while enjoying one of the best festival experiences in America.

“Artscape is a perfect example of private-public partnerships teaming together to provide city residents and guests with a memorable experience. I hope people from across the state will visit Baltimore and enjoy all that this nationally significant festival has to offer.”

Artscape is produced by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts, Inc. (BOPA) on behalf of the Baltimore Festival of the Arts, Inc (BFAI).  BOPA is a 501(c)3 non-profit which serves as Baltimore City’s arts council, film office and special events agency. Artscape's total economic impact on Baltimore City is more than $25 million. For more information, visit Artscape.org.
